Marder II

The Marder II was a lightly-armored German tank destroyer of WWII based on the obsolete Panzer II
chassis. The Marder II was armed with a 7.5 cm Pak 40 antitank gun in an armored open-top
superstructure with limited traverse. The Marder II was designated Sd. Kfz. 131.

The Marder II shown in these two photographs was nicknamed "Kohlenklau" (coal thief). The vehicle carries
19 kill rings. It was photographed on the Eastern Front in 1943.
