Memphis Belle ◊
The famous WWII B-17 "Memphis Belle" is a popular display at
National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.
After years of neglect, the B-17 is undergoing restoration in a

Combat Medics in WWII ◊
Although this website appears not to have been updated recently, it remains a valuable
resource on the WWII military medical and hospital corps. The website includes documents,
personal accounts, and military manuals related to the combat medic and the
medical service in general. The website also contains a list of WWII hospitals which

Combined Operations ◊
Combined Operations was formed as part of the British War Office to deploy
combined naval and army forces in raids and operations against the
continent. The Commandos operated under Combined Operations and
projects originating in Combined Operations included the
Mulberry Harbours and P.L.U.T.O. pipeline. The CombinedOps.com website was
setup to honour the memory and celebrate the achievements of the men and
women of Combined Operations Command. The website contains extensive
personal accounts and photographs of WWII operations.

3rd Armored Archives ◊
The University of Illinois Archives houses the
Third Armored Division Association Archives. The archives has begun
to put some of the collection online. From the home page, scroll down
and select "Journals, Logs, Reports and Commendations, 1942-45" for
online documents including
"After Action Reports, Battle of Mons, Sept. 1-4, September 1-4, 1944,"
"History of the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment, April 1941-July 1945,"
and
"36th Armored Infrantry Regiment After Action Report, March-April 1945."

WWII Helmet Returns Home ◊
A farmer has returned a U.S. soldier's helmet to his family
over sixty years after his death. Pfc Curtis C. Morris, a paratrooper
in the 504 Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, died
during Operation Market Garden when his parachute malfunctioned.
